Welcome to the Chipping Norton Bowls Club

The club is fully inclusive, welcoming and encourages all our members to enjoy the game of bowls , in whatever format and to whatever standard they wish to. From the informal game with friends (or like minded members) through to County and National competitions.

We are pleased to say that our members range in age from teenagers to members in their 80’s, with some having been with the club since its formation whilst others are just starting. The club is proud to say that it is fully signed up to and actively promotes the Safeguarding Polcies and Procedures, set out by both Bowls England and Oxfordshire Bowls.

But all of our members are young at heart and have a shared interest in the game of bowls.

The facilities include four indoor rinks and six outdoor plus a fully equiped kitchen, dining area and bar area. The facilities are also available to be booked out for social events by using the “Contact us” button below.

On the 1st May I98I, the first wood was rolled up on Chippy green – what an accomplishment after many years of hard work in the background.

Shortly after this an Indoor Committee was formed and it was agreed to purchase a short mat for £300 to play on over the winter period. This was then followed in the March of 1988 , with the official opening of the Indoor rinks. These proved such a success that the committee agreed to add a dining room, a kitchen, changing rooms and a bar area.  To give the club it’s current structure.

Being one of the few indoor rinks in the area, players over the inter months are drawn from many of the local outdoor clubs, which allows for many friendly internal leagues and competitions to be run. In addition the bowls club has a very strong social calendar of events through out the year.

See the posts below for a idea of what is going on and for more details go to the Members Area.
